AVVNL has been ordered to pay an amount of 5 lakh rupees to a victim’s family. Permanent Lok Adalat issued orders to compensate the loss to the family of Dhan Singh who died as a result of electric shock.
10 months back, Dhan Singh Kitoda died after coming in contact with current flowing out of a fallen electric pole. As per Dhan Singh’s wife Rakmi Bai, Dhan Singh was busy working in his field on 19th December 2016. An electric pole had fallen in his field. There was a constant flow of current from the pole. There were sparks coming out as a result of the flowing current. Dhan Singh unknowingly came in contact with the current flow and died on the spot.
Dhan Singh was working as supervisor in a private company. Permanent Lok Adalat ordered AVVNL to pay a compensation of 5 lakh rupees to the victim’s wife Rakmi Bai and his two sons Suraj Singh and Madho Singh within 2 months. AVVNL will also pay 5 thousand rupees as court fees to the victim’s wife and 10 thousand rupees as penalty to District Legal Aid fund.
