Udaipur is famous among tourists worldwide, but a Kenyan loves Udaipur for his special association with the City of Lakes.

It will be hard to expect something called ‘Udaipur Car Wash’ in a small town of Kisii, 306 Km from Nairobi. But during my business trip to the town, I was shocked to notice the sign board and decided to enquire about the owner on naming his business after my hometown.

There I met David Nyambuto, an elderly man who owns Udaipur Car Wash. He greeted me with joy after knowing that I was from Udaipur.

During our conversation, I came to know that, David completed his Masters degree from B N College, Udaipur in 1989 and then returned to his homeland Kenya and started working in the capital city of Nairobi.

After working there for nearly 20 years, David decided to settle back in his home town of Kisii to look after his farms and to start a small business. He decided to start a car wash service.

His attachment and love for Udaipur, even though he left the place 25 years ago, made him to keep the name of his business as ‘UDAIPUR CAR WASH”.
