Practical New Year Resolution – Thinking and Reasoning
Today is a weird day for me; I don’t know whether to enjoy this day or to back-off celebrations. Wondering of the weirdness, I thought of a weird idea and posted a query on facebook asking people, if they dropped celebrations this New Year AND/OR celebrated the New year a different way, like a friend of mine organizing candle march at 12 mid night and then the next afternoon their society have arranged to cook and host for special children.
So, I posted the query seeking more people whose lives changed with this incidence.
While, the day still not over, remembrance of another old friend of mine crossed my conscious mind. Her incident dated back to 2001, January 26 when we were shocked and terrified by the shake of earth; that was the year when she declared a ‘No’ to Holi celebrations. The incidence shook something inside her and that became a tipping point for her, for that matter.
Do we all have a tipping point that shoots-off on something? lately I believe we have all lost it. Moderating our life on the ‘No Choice Social Model’ we have taken so many twists and turns, adjusted and compromised our souls on such matters that we have all lost it.
Now our lives are not our Own lives, we drive our lives on the path laid across in front and we are nurtured to perceive we are free, while we are not. By giving us the whole different meaning of life, this way of life has brought everything upside down.
Today, we are such, that nothing matters to us; everything matters on the face, and below that thin layer of expressions there is nothing that appeals. Everybody felt sad, some shred few tears, good ones showed solidarity and we the people, remained the people.
We the people saw it on TV, talked to friends and updated statuses, the idea is not that this incidence is the ultimate in everyone’s lives, but, the idea is to give food-for-thought that what is That ultimate for us, our tipping point.
What are we looking for? to wake up. How long are we going to wait before accepting our own understanding? How long do we have to wait before we act upon what we consider right and stop driving our lives on the path laid by someone else, call him ‘the system’, and the force behind the system.
Human Rights will barge-in if the culprits are hanged publicly, Man! What are you talking about? This is a mass movement, this is Humanity and your human rights are with the victim and not the perpetrators; even if such are humans, such ones need to be killed publicly to set fear in others. Where is our system’s tipping point, who is system? what is system?
It is all about the path, the nurturing, and the perception.
The day is now is almost over, evening is approaching, soon there, the city will twinkle in the jiggle of the New Year and here no one has come back to satisfy my pursuit. I suggest one New Year resolution, we all should really consider and adhere is, ‘to start thinking’; thinking of what we do and why we do.
Reason everything you do and guess what, you will see a base building, the more and the deeper you reason, the larger and stronger becomes the base. In fact, the only way out of that nurturing, the road map and the perception I was talking about, is to start thinking and reasoning every action.
May the soul rest in peace and peace be with the family of victim!
Calling-off another calendar year! bubye 2012. Welcome 2013…
