As a part of the industrial development plan of RIICO, the institution has been developing the Kaladwas (Expansion) industrial area.  Now that the plots are developed and ready to be handed over to end users, RIICO is holding an e-auction of the industrial plots in Kaladwas from 27 January onwards, when the plots will be allotted to eligible bidders.

SK Nainavati, Senior Regional Manager of RIICO announced that the corporation has marked 266 industrial plots across 4 zones in the newly developed Kaladwas (Expansion) belt. Among the marked 266 plots, 264 are up for the auction. Of these, 202 are up for takes in the General Industrial Zone, 51 in the IT and EMC Industrial Zone and 11 in the Minerals Zone.  2 plots in the Pharmaceutical zone have already been allotted to Cadilla and Mankind Pharma.  RIICO has completed the marking of the plots, demarkation and road connectivity, while electricity supply, water supply, drainage and street light work in in process.

Of the 202 plots in the General Industrial Zone, 90 will be allotted in the first phase of the auction, which will begin from 27 January. As per regulations RIICO has marked 8 plots of these 90 plots as reserved for Women and SC/ST category, Benchmark Disability category and retired Defence Personnel/retired Paramilitary personnel category and to dependents of deceased defence and paramilitary personnel. The plot area of the 90 plots in the first phase in the General Industrial Zone ranges from 700sqmt to 20,000sqmt. Of these, 33 plots are between 500-1000sqmt; 27 plots are between 1001-1500sqmt; 26 plots are between 1501-3000sqmt; 1 plot is between 3001-4000sqmt and 2 plots are between 4001-10000sqmt. One plot is between 10001-20000sqmt.

The expansion of the RIICO Kaladwas area is spread is across 585.75 acres and is connected to the current IID Centre Kaladwas and Bhamashah Kaladwas areas, which is fully developed and consists of 520 industrial plots.  380 companies are already running their plants on 491 plots. The belt is situated 15km from the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway and is adjacent to the Udaipur-Banswara State Highway.
