Over 10 lakh people across 17 cities in Rajasthan quenched their parched throats through Wonder Cement’s Swach Jal Sabka Haq campaign. The initiative was launched last month with an objective to provide clean and cold drinking water to people during peak summer days. The campaign which is in its last phase ended this week on June 13, 2015.
As a part of this effort, the company had deployed 20 vans across the state, which were parked at well known landmarks for providing clean, cold and safe drinking water to the public. The initiative assumes significance as major parts of Rajasthan during the months of May and June experience temperatures of up to 48 degree Celsius. These mobile vans were parked for two and a half hours at a particular location quenching the thirst of people and providing them some relief from the scorching heat. Through the campaign, Wonder Cement reached about 70-90 locations per district. The vans were on the road from 10am to 6 pm on all days.
“We are extremely happy that we could be of service to such a large number of people across the state during these hot summer. The activity is now drawing to a close this year but going forward we will look at incorporating our key learnings from this year for the next round of activity,” said Mr. Vivek Patni – Director, Wonder Cement Ltd.
Under the Swach Jal Sabka Haq campaign, Wonder Cement covered 17 cities viz. Udaipur, Chittor, Jodhpur, Pali, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Kota, Alwar, Sikar, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Banswada, Nimbahera and Dungarpur. Three locations per district were covered every day benefiting a large number of people.
