As per RSMML, the system implemented has an integrated internal Marketing and Sales function with weighbridges across the multiple locations and has a direct API interface with e-Rawana software of Directorate of Mines and Geology, Government of Rajasthan. It has further been integrated with the GST invoicing as well as e-Way Billing systems of the government.

Unique and innovative aspects of this project
The preparation of the comprehensive business process document was the first of its kind under the state’s PSU environment. Web services for communicating with the weighbridges, interfaces with the ERP, the integration with the Department of Mines and Geology and the transport department was an innovative step in this direction, says RSMML.

This application provides real time information to the management to facilitate better decision making and also offers other benefits like increased inventory turnover algorithms, enhanced customer service, optimized stock control, sales forecasting and real time receivables management.

Customers of RSMML have been provided with the customer interface to this system, whereby transparency to operations is enabled and the customer can also avail and online payment facility in the customer dashboard. RSMMLS is serving over a thousand customers with this application.

The approach to implementing the solution

On speaking to RSMML about this implementation, UdaipurTimes was informed that this system was implemented on 1 April 2019. The core application being developed by the team at RAJCOMP, the integration and customization took place in line with the requirements developed by the IT team at RSMML.

Initially, the IT team consisted of managers who prepared the entire business process documents that included the details of each process. Once the detailed project report was prepared, RSMML chose RAJCOMP as its implementation partner. Subsequent to conducting the system study, the core application was developed with the required customizations taking place later on. The solution was deployed at the Rajasthan State Data Center. Adequate infrastructure was created across the organization, incorporating all 18 weighbridges, mines and all offices.

Salient features of the application

Usually, a system of this kind incorporates solutions to all kinds of business flow requirements, but with the kind of business that RSMML is in, the problems were accentuated with infrastructure issues. Mines of RSMML were scattered across the state, most of them with poor or no internet connectivity. Each function has its own isolated software. Data points were scattered. Each SBU had a different set of procedures. The time taken for communication of the order to production team took 24-48 hours. Dispatch consolidation took nothing less than 96 hours. There was phenomenal paper work and customers were unable to monitor their payments or dispatch.

Addressing all of these problems comprehensively, the system implemented provides real time information across the organization and to its customers. There is substantial time saving and allows better decision making. Increased inventory turnover was witnessed as a result of better planning and control, minimized costs and minimization of redundancy. Customer satisfaction was enhanced because of transparency through the customer dashboard.

RSMML serves over 1000 clients across India, under various sectors like fertilizers, cement, steel, etc. all of whom have been benefitted by this system.
