“There is nothing that brings me more happiness than seeing a smile on a child’s face”…is what Prem Puri says.

Prem Puri, the owner of Saheli Restaurant, situated opposite Saheliyon Ki Badi in Udaipur, has set a unique example by ensuring that each child that visits his restaurant has a glass of milk, free of cost.

Prem says, that this practice was followed by Balbir Singh, owner of a restaurant where he used to work, before starting his own restaurant here.  He just loved the idea and without any much ado, or without any perspective of being recognized for this work, Prem started this practice in his own restaurant, a model he has been following for the last 15 years now.

Tourists or locals who visit his restaurant, are surprised as well as pleased, when he offers milk to infants and children upto 5 years of age, and refuses to charge for the milk.  The visitors take back pleasant memories of this gesture by Prem.  He believes that this is his way of blessing the children that come to Saheli Restaurant….Hats off Prem.
