Record participation at Bohra Youth Blood Camp on 7th Moharram
For the past 40 years, Bohra Youth Society has been organising a Blood Camp, on the 7th of Moharram, and this year a voluntary contribution of 194 units was raised at the event, which is one of the sincere ways the members of the Society pay homage to Imam Hussain and his 72 Martyrs at Karbala
“Human Blood should flow in the service of Humanity, this is the true form of tribute to the Martyrs at Karbala...”, said Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, when he inaugurated the Annual Blood Camp organised by Bohra Youth, as homage to the Martyrs of Islam at Karbala, on the 7th of Moharram.
Bohra Youth Medical Relief Society, an associated unit of the Bohra Youth Sansthan, organised a Blood Camp in association with the Maharana Bhupal Hospital and Saral Blood Bank, at the Medical Relief Society Dispensary at Bohrawadi on 9th October, which coincided with the 7th day of the Holy Month of Moharram.

Woman participated in large numbers at the Camp, which witnessed a continuous flow of people right through the morning hours as well as the evening session, with even those who had fasted during the day, coming in the evening hours post completion of their fast, to donate blood.
The first session was conducted by members of the Maharana Bhupal Hospital, while the evening session was conducted by Saral Blood Bank.
Towards the end of the Camp, President of Bohra Youth Medical Relief Society, Anees Miyaji and Secretary, Bohra Youth, Gazanfer Okasa presented the participants with mementos and a certificate towards expressing gratitude on the participation.
“Looking at the growing participation at this Annual Blood Camp, we intend to setup a larger premises in the future, to ensure that all those who come voluntarily all through the day for the Camp, can be accommodated amicably”, said Anees Miyaji.
Concillor Rehana Germanwala, Secretary of Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat, Hibtullah Attari; President of Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Abbas Ali Nath were among the other members of the society present on the occasion.
