Poverty, as many think isn’t only being hungry, naked and homeless but it is being unwanted, unloved and uncared. Today, Rotary Club of Udaipur Heritage along with the Interact Club of Ryan International School launched a noble service project: Soles 4 Souls that defied the above definition of poverty.
Rotary Club president Deepak Sukhadia informed about the project saying that the clubs would collect new or lightly worn shoes and distribute them to the needy children devoid of proper footwear. He said that the children outgrow their age and parents don’t know where to dispose the old shoes.
The Interact Club president Meghna Taldar informed that the school children will collect the footwear and segregate them according to the age and gender which would thereafter be distributed to the under privileged kids.
The poster for the cause was unveiled by Divisional Commissioner Bhawani Singh Detha. Other members including Club Secretary Sanjeev Jodhawat, Director Rajesh Bhatnagar and School Principal Poonam Rathore were present.
