The festival of Holi is one of the most loved festivals in entire India. It is the festival of fun celebrated with colours. The only question that arises is the use of chemical colours which are extremely harmful for skin and health. To ease out this trouble, the tribes of Mewar region have once again geared up and already prepared 5 tonnes of gulal by now and the process is still on.
Like every year, the herbal gulal prepared in Udaipur by women’s self employment committees and forest department is much in demand all over the country. Not just Rajasthan, but other states like Maharashtra, Delhi and metros have already placed their demands for herbal gulal for the holi festival. This gulal is supplied not only in the general market but also in hotels and corporate houses.
It may be noted that no chemical is added to these colours and these are absolutely natural. Made from all the natural vegetation, gulal bears natural colours of nature like pink, green, red, purple and yellow. It will be sold at 150 rupees/kg and also packed in 100 and 200 grams packets at various gulal stalls which will be put up on 15th March at Chetak Circle.
