Mothers prayed and blessed their sons on the occasion of Vats Dwadashi which was celebrated in the city today. The Hindu festival denotes mother’s love for her children. Today, mothers usually pray for the safety and long life of their sons and also offer prayer to cow’s calf.

Mothers prayed and blessed their sons on the occasion of Vats Dwadashi which was celebrated in the city today. The Hindu festival denotes mother’s love for her children. Today, mothers usually pray for the safety and long life of their sons and also offer prayer to cow’s calf.

Cow is known as the holy animal in the Indian cultural and Hindu religious history. Specifically cows and calf are affix to the Lord Krishna too.

There are folklores attached to the event of Vats Dwadashi which is also known as Bachh Baras.

Women devotees of the city prayed at Gau Shalas (Cow Shelters) and Temples.

Many women were seen at Jagatguru Nimbarkacharya Narayan Devacharya Ashram at Delhi Gate and prayed by putting tilak and garlanding the calf and cow. They also offered fresh grass to the cattle.

On this day, devotees avoid anything made of wheat and milk. Also chopping vegetables/fruits from the knife is refrained.
