Forest department has brought back herbal gulal for Holi festival. This gulal is purely herbal and created by rural women employees.

The festival of Holi gives rise to cheers and laughters, fun and frolic. To maintain a safe holi, the forest department began making herbal gulal as this does not harm the skin.

The festive season must not end with a painful note. People have suffered skin allergies, burning sensations and a lot of other troubles because of the colours that were used on the Holi festival years back. To deal with this situation, the forest department started manufacturing herbal gulal so that no health issues are faced by the masses and the festival is enjoyed with full vigour and enthusiasm.

The rural employees of the forest department are skilled at making herbal gulal. This gulal does not have any harmful chemicals as they had in the past. It is made from flowers, herbs and natural fragrances are added to it. It is absolutely smooth and feels good on the skin, does not harm in any way and has soothing colours.

Rose petals, palash and amaltash flowers are used for making red, pink, orange and green coloured gulal. The gulal packets are available in packings of 250 grams and 500 grams. 1 kg pack is also available. The centres dealing in herbal gulal will also have stalls of aloevera products, aloevera juice and aloevera shampoos and gels. All this will be available in the main forest office department at Chetak Circle and Kalkamata Nursery.
