Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed an excise officer 2 years back while he was on his way to his village with bribe money. A charge sheet was filed against him in ACB court this Monday. Chetan Regar has been accused of taking bribe from liquor contractors of Pratapgarh.
In October 2015, Chetan was on his way to his village in Ajmer. He was stopped on the way near a toll plaza by ACB team upon receiving information about the crime. ACB officers found 20 thousand rupees from Chetan’s pockets and a bag on the car seat contained 4 lakh rupees.
Upon interrogation, Chetan said that he had borrowed the money from a liquor contractor. When the liquor contractor was interrogated by the ACB team, he denied having lent any amount to Chetan. After this a case was registered against Chetan Regar. A charge sheet was filed against him this Monday. Chetan is under arrest and the case is being investigated by ACB team.(media reports)
