Paltan masjid at Chetak circle Udaipur is playing host to Udaipur’s first eco-friendly Taziya. The Taziya is 30ft tall and made out of 30kg silver. The Taziya has been made at an estimated cost of Rs 17 Lakh.
As per Majeed Khan, Head of the Faiz-e-Hussain committee, Paltan Masjid, the Taziya has been made eco-friendly considering the calls by district administration for making lakes pollution free. He claims that the Taziya will be the first of its kind in the district.
Majeed also spread message of communal harmony informing that the Taziya was created by a Hindu artisan Manoj Suthar along with a set of Muslim counterparts.
The eco-friendly Taziya will be immersed only symbolically and will be taken out.
The Taziya was moved from Brahmpol on Sunday morning. It has been attracting a lot of believers and will be open for public till Oct 12.
