There was a major clash between 2 groups of transgenders in Bapu Bazar on Wednesday. As per reports, these 2 groups hit each other with ‘lathis’ over the issue of money collection which they usually do close to the festival season.
The issue grew to the extent of 2 groups fighting with each other as they have their areas fixed in the market region. No transgender group crosses the fixed areas, but since it happened on Wednesday, the 2 groups ended up fighting with each other. The clash grew to such an extent that one of the transgenders even took off clothes in the presence of a huge crowd.
People informed Surajpole police who then reached the market and pacified the 2 groups. Bhanwari and Ashiq of one group lodged a complaint against Karishma and Guddi of the other group. As per Bhanwari and Ashiq, they were in the market to collect funds when the other group reached there and started fighting with them. When Bhanwari tried to escape from the scene in an auto with her partner, Karishma and Guddi pulled them out of the auto and started beating them. When the crowd tried to intervene to save Bhanwari, one of the members from the other group took off clothes and created a scene.
