Beware of the electricity bills that you receive since it has been reported that consumers are being sent wrong bills i.e. bills sent to them are actually not theirs.
Electricity department is sending mobile messages to consumers with the wrong outstanding amount. This has been discovered at the electricity bill payment counters when consumers who went to make their payments were informed that the outstanding bill was not in their respective names.
When the matter was reported to the department, they denied making any such error on their part. Clarifying the situation, the officers reportedly said that consumers keep changing their mobile numbers and do not intimate the department on time. Hence the confusion of wrong bills…
It has also been reported by consumers that electricity bills are not being delivered on time. This way bills are being paid late by consumers and that again becomes an issue. Some people even reported that they do not get hard copies of bills at all. Bills are paid only on the basis of messages received on mobile. It also happens that wrong messages are delivered to consumers but as accused by the department they haven’t changed their mobile numbers at all and the numbers are the same as registered in the department.
