A team from the office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Udaipur, conducted a raid on an allegedly illegal Egg Donor Center in the Madhuban area of Udaipur.  The team effected this raid after receiving a complain and tip off.

The clinic, being operated under the name Angel Egg Donor Centre at Madhuban, is operated by Sitara Bano, a resident of Mulla Talai area in Udaipur. The clinic is located in the Hiran X-Ray lane at Madhuban and Dr Kharadi, the CMHO Dr Dinesh Kharadi said that this clinic is being operated in the fom of an egg donor centre where the process of egg donation is being conducted illegaly for IVF. He added that as per the information received, girls under the age of 18 are also being indulged in this racket.

During the raid, the team recovered IVF injections, which were seized along with all documents available at the centre.  The operator / owner Sitara Bano was not present on the spot for questioning. The team found that neither is the clinic registered under the Clinical Establishment Act, nor did it have a registration under the Bio Medical Waste policy. The Drug Controller team, who was also a part of the raid team, confiscated the IVF injections and will take action under the Drug and Cosmetic Act.

A few women, who had come for treatment at the clinic were questioned by the police. No underage girl was found among the patients. CMHO said that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation is over.
