He has extorted money from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son in 2018

Udaipur’s Bhupalpura Police have arrested an impersonator with a history of cases in his name from Cenral Jail Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

Suresh,  alias Bhairya, son of Bhanwar Lal, has been calling up people across cities in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh under the guise of Superintendent of Police, Police Inspector, Concillor, MLA an MPs. He calls up people under the guise of important public figures and extorts money from them.

Suresh belongs to Kotwali in Pali and has over 30 cases of impersonation and extortion registered against him in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.  This is the 35th time that he has been arrested.

As per information provided by Bhupalpura Police SHO Sanjay Sharma, Suresh has called up Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot 2 years ago and Udaipur Concillor Nana Lal Vaya this year on 9 January. Suresh called up Nana Lal Vaya under the guise of Pratapnagar SHO Vivek Singh and demanded Rs 6 Lakh from him.  When Nana Lal called up Vivek, this fraud was identified.

Police also informed that Suresh impersonated Indore SP Yusuf Qureshi and extorted Rs 10 Lakh from Aakash Vijayvargia. When Aakash called up Yusuf Qureshi, the impersonation was discovered. Pali police had arrested Suresh and handed him over to Indore police in this regard.  ASI Arjun Singh from Bhupalpura Police arrested him this week from Indore under a production warrant and have bought him to Udaipur.

Modus Operandi of Suresh

Police investigation revealed that Suresh is living with his father, wife, two sons and a daughter and is not even high school educated.  He has been doing this since 2006. He has been arrested numerous times and on each arrest, listens to the senior policemen, learns about their background and identifies who all they know and meet.  Then after his term is over, he goes to the relevant district of the person he wants to impersonate and finds out more about him.  Subsequent to collecting this information, he then calls up people known to these policemen and extorts money from them. He uses a new SIM every time and registers the officers number on TrueCaller so that his call looks more genuine.
