Pradeep Gavaria (7),a student of 1st standard of Primary School at New Keshavnagar was found in his classroom crying, the room was locked from outside.

Ashok Gavaria ,Pradeep’s father blaming the school management said- ‘it is because of the school’s negligence that my son is in misery now.”

However, one of the school teachers discarded the allegation saying that – ‘the child was not well since morning and we had already informed his parents but no one from the family turned up’.

Pradeep’s elder sister who also studies in the same school in 7th standard, however, said that,” I and Pradeep left for the school in morning as usual, and that he was looking fine. Like every day, as his school gets over 15 minutes before mine, I supposed that he might have gone alone or my father might have come to pick him up, but when I reached home he was not there”.

On learning about the absence of Pradeep, his father along with other relatives rushed to the school in search of his son.

But the school was locked, in despair they started searching for the boy in the vicinity when suddenly they heard a noise of crying. Peeking through a window, they saw Pradeep inside one classroom.

The worried parents then went to one of the teacher’s home who stays nearby and asked for the school keys but they were taken aback when the teacher named Veena, refused them the keys.

The parents came back to the school and broke opened the room to evacuate their traumatized son.

They rushed Pradeep to M.B hospital where he was admitted in ICU special ward at 1:15 pm. According to the doctor Pradeep’s condition is said to be stable, however, the doctor didn’t revealed the exact condition and cause of Pradeep’s illness.

After hearing this news, a few more parents of the children studying in the school gathered in the hospital compound and complained more incidents about school, one of the parent alleged that some school teachers forcefully make their children work do their (teacher’s)household chores.

Pradeep’s sister also revealed that the school teachers don’t lock the classrooms, instead they ask students to do so and that might have been the reason, Pradeep was left unnoticed.
