Extortion money demanded from Property Dealer after Kidnapping

A case of alleged extortion had been registered at the Hathipol Police station by Saifee Bohra, a native of Salumber, and currently residing at Navratan Complex, Bhuwana, Udaipur.

Per the FIR lodged at the Hathipol Police station, the complainant Saifee, had been allegedly kidnapped from Shiksha Bhawana Chauraha, approximately 500m from Hathipol Police station.  The FIR was lodged on 8th September and the incident had occurred on 7th September.

According to the information provided in the FIR, Saifee, 37, who hails from Salumber, had been a resident of Kuwait for quite many years, and is currently settled in Udaipur living with his family in Navratan Complex.  He is  a property dealer as per Police.

On 7th September, as per the report, Saifeee received a telephone call on his mobile, from one of the accused, who called himself Rafiq Jabbar.  Rafiq introduced himself as a property agent and told Saifee that he wanted to show him a plot at Savina, which he had available for sale.  Saifee said that he was interested in purchasing property in Navratan Complex only, on which Rafiq allegedly told him to have a look at the property at least once.  Saifee agreed and was asked to meet Rafiq at Shiksha Bhawan chauraha, which he did at 10am on 7th September.

Rafiq was waiting for Saifee in his car at Shiksha Bhawan along with another accused, Inayat Pinjara.  They asked Saifee to drive along in their car, and that Saifees car would be driven by the third accused, Mubarak.

When the car started moving towards Fatehsagar, Saifee got suspicious and asked why they were moving towards Fatehsagar when the land was at Savina (other side of town).  Hearing this, both Inayat and Rafiq started laughing and abused him.  The announced that Saifee had been kidnapped by them and would be released only after Saifee paid extortion money of Rs 28 Lac.

A bewildered and apprehensive Saifee asked them the reason for this extortion, on which the two alleged persons mentioned a land deal in Salumber in which Saifee was involved.  They then drove Saifee in their white Swift car, to Chitrakoot Nagar and Rafiq told Inayat to take anything that Saifee had on him.  Inayat recovered Rs 50,000 from Saifee’s possession.  Later, they told Saifee that he needed to pay them Rs 28 lac which pertained to a deal between accused Firoz and Karan Singh of Salumber, where Karan Singh bought land from Firoz.  Rafiq told Saifee that the matter had been informed to them and they had to collect Rs 28 Lac from Saifee.  On hearing this Saifee said that he had nothing to do with the deal and that he gave the receipt of money received to Karan Singh.

Rafiq drove Saifee to Savina and there two more unknown people joined them in the car.  The two people were told to kill Saifee if he did not pay the money.  Saifee told them that he had his wife’s jewelry lying with him in his car and that they could take it for the time being till he arranged for the Rs 28 Lac.  The accused ransacked Saifee’s car and took the jewelry, which consisted to 2 gold bracelets, 2 gold rings, 1 gold chain, 2 gold ear tops, and 5gm coins.  Saifee then called his friend Hitesh and asked for money, to which Hitesh said he did not have money at the point in time.  The duo were then allegedly told to murder Saifee and dump his body in the nearby jungles.

Saifee pleaded and asked them to give him a couple of hours to arrange for the money, to which the accused hesitantly agreed and told him to arrange for the money by 7PM the same day.  Saifee went home and narrated the entire event to his family, subsequent to which the report was lodged.

Alleging extortion, loot of Rs 50,000 and jewelry against Rafiq, Inayat and Mubarak, Saifee also included the name of Firoz in the list of accused and has requested Police to take action against the four, following which the Police has sprung into action.
