Rajasthan Government adopts Zero Tolerance Policy on Illegal Liquor - Excise Department

Two arrested on the first day of the Special Preventive Operations; Kilns and Washers destroyed, Illegal Mahua recovered

The state government of Rajasthan has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy on the manufacture, storage and transportation of illicit liquor in the state. On the instructions of the Excise Commissioner Dr Jogaram, a Special Preventive Campaign is being run from September 21 till September 30. The Special Preventions Operations team began with their raids on the first day of the campaign, two people were arrested.

Assistant Excise Commissioner Ajay Jain, who is the In-Charge of the Udaipur Anti-Excise team said that raids were conducted underExcise Officer VIjay Joshi at Lakapa, Vagpur, Kargeta Ganwada and Daulpura, which fall under the Salumber Excise Police Station zone.

Ajay Jain also informed that about 1,800 litres of wash kept for the purpose of manufacturing country liquor was confiscated and destroyed on the spot. Two functional kilns were also destroyed and 37 bottles of illegal Mahua liquor were recovered. A total of three cases were registered.

25 bottles of illegal liquor were recovered from Kamla Meana, resident of Vagpur, 7 bottles of Mahua were recovered from Kalu Meena resident of Daulpura. Both the accused have been arrested. The team also is on the lookout for Deliya Meena, resident of Upla Fala, who was known to operate a functional kiln and 5 bottles were recovered from near the kiln.

The raids were conducted under the joint efforts of Salumber Excise Circle Inspector Yogesh Salvi, his team and the team from the Udaipur excise department.
