Loaded Gun stolen from businessman's car

An incident of theft was reported today at the Surajpol Police Station. A lot of items including a loaded gun, cash and travelers cheques were stolen from the car. As per the information obtained from the Police Station, a 45 year old marble business man, Narayan Lal Patel (in photo above), resident of fatehpura reported a theft from his car, which was parked in Surajpol.

As per the information obtained from the Police Station, a 45 year old marble business man, Narayan Lal Patel (in photo above), resident of fatehpura reported a theft from his car, which was parked in Surajpol.

Going by the chain of events, Narayan Lal, who owns a marble unit in Sukher by the name of Tirupati Impex, left home in his white colored Toyota Fortuner at 6:30 in the evening for a regular evening market visit to complete a few chores.

He went to the Star Drycleaners shop at Surajpol, to pick up his clothes. It was here that he parked his car a bit out of sight. After Surajpol, he drove to Udiapol to buy fruits from a roadside vendor.

It was while he was leaving the fruit vendor, where he noticed that his briefcase and a small red polybag, which were in the car, were missing.

He immediately reported the case to the police at the Surajpol police station, and expressed doubt that items were stolen when he was at the Star Drycleaners at around 7:10 pm.

As per the details available with the Police, Narayan Lal has reported that the briefcase had Rs. 70,000 and USD 2,500 in case, 1,000 Travellers Cheques, his and his wife’s Field Club membership cards and 2 Credit Cards in his name.

It was more important to note that the poly bag contained a Made in England Pistol that was preloaded with 6 bullets, another 25 filled cartridges and the original licence.

The FIR has been lodged and the police have started investigation.

Update 11:30pm (3/2/2012): According to Additional S.P Tejraj Singh, a revolver with 25 cartridges, ammunition license and few documents recovered near Kasturba Hospital, close to Ashoka Bakery.
