A lady was brutally murdered in Basada village near Ubeshwar Mahadev temple falling under the Nai Police station area. The assailant brutally cut off her leg and slit her throat.

The incident happened on Friday evening. Rajoodi (w/o Devaram Gameti) was killed in her field. Her throat was slit and leg cut off – the silver jewelry on her leg that was cut-off was missing.

Devaram told Police that he and his wife Rajoodi were working in the field. He had gone home for putting a pile of maize crop home. When he returned back after 15 minutes, he found his wife lying in a pool of blood. Her leg was cut off and the cut-off leg was lying next to her head.

Police however is finding it hard to buy Devaram’s story. If the assailant wanted to loot Rajoodi, he/she would also have taken away the gold ornament on her neck and cut off her second leg also for the silver jewelry.

SP Udaipur, Kunwar Rasthradeep said that the case looks suspicious from various angles. Blood is also found on her husband’s clothing. He said that the case is being investigated from all angles and it was difficult to comment on anything right now.
