“Not just their marvelous educational methodologies, sincerity and punctuality impressed us, but we were also left completely amazed with the grand welcome and hospitality of our Swedish counterparts,” said Deepak Sharma, joint director of Central Public School (CPS) who recently visited Sweden’s Gothenburg in a Student Exchange Program with a group of 8 students.

Under the supervision of Deepak Sharma and school Teacher Krishna Shaktawat, the 8 selected students of CPS got the opportunity to learn and observe the education and learning tactics, history, society and culture of Sweden in their two weeks stay at Doner Gymnesiest, one of the most reputed high schools of Sweden.

Martin Johnson, principal of Doner Gymnesiest with students and teachers welcomed the group of CPS and provided us with all facilities and informed about the Swedish history and culture, informed Deepak Sharma.  In the two weeks stay, CPS students took part in school classes, school projects and stayed at host families to learn about the Swedish lifestyle closely.

One of the students Chandraveer Singh informed that, it was his first trip outside India and was the most remarkable experience, “I feel I am a different person, intellectually enlightened, self disciplined and exposed to one of the most advance country and its culture. Thanks to my school CPS and Deepak Sir for selecting me for this memorable trip.”

Other than Chandraveer, students Dhvani Kachoriya, Himanshi Jain, Parth Kacchara, Ojaswini Singh, Leena Lohar, Yashasvi Tank and Ayush Sahu also shared similar experiences.

“There are two categories of school education in Sweden, Private School and Society System and both are backed by government, so school education is completely free. High School is a 3 years program and the main subjects included are Social Science, Science, Commerce and Music” said Deepak Sharma.

“Moreover, there is nothing like written or reading education, most of the learning process is project based which makes students literally involved in understanding the subject and grasping it,” he further informed.

Krishna Shaktawat informed that the students of Doner Gymnesiest also visited CPS Udaipur twice, once in year 2012 and then in 2013 under Student Exchange program where they learned about the history and culture of India, Rajasthan and Udaipur. The exchange is now accomplished after CPS students visited Sweden and engaged in the learning process. In the next program, students of Doner are scheduled to visit Udaipur in Feb next year.

While explaining the importance of tour, Deepak Sharma said, “This is the first education tour outside India where we were invited by the host school and I think, in fact I strongly believe that such exchange of education system and sharing of knowledge is very essential for students of both countries to broaden their views and perspective for each other.  Moreover, I am also thankful to Kamlendra Singh of Fairytale India to coordinate this tour so well and hassle free for us.”
