CBSE Board 2022 - Term 1 Time Table Released

The CBSE has announced Term 1 Time Table for Class 10 and 12

The Examination Date Sheet of the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations has been released by CBSE https://cbse.gov.in. Officials at India's premier school education board have warned of fake time tables and date sheet that are being viralled across social media platforms.

The examinations of CBSE Board Class 10 will begin on November 30 and end on December 11, 2021; the Term 1 examinations for Class 12 will begin on December 1 and end on December 22, 2021.

“Practical exams or internal assessment will be completed in schools before the first-term exams are over. The marks allotted will be 50% of the total marks and mentioned in the syllabus. The schools will be informed separately about the full scheme so that they can make the necessary preparations” - Sanyam Bhardwaj, Examination Controller - CBSE

The examinations will be conducted in offline mode. The paper will begin at 11:30am and the students will get 20 minutes before the timer begins. The results of the Term 1 examination phase will not show any student as Pass, Compartment or Essential Repeat. This will only be declared after the Term 2 phase is over with. Whether the Term 2 examination will be online or offline and whether it will be subjective or objective will depend on the COVID situation in March - April 2022.

As informed earlier, the Board examinations for 2022 will be held in two parts, Term 1 and Term 2. While the Term 1 examinations are going to be held in the November - December 2021 window, the Term 2 examinations will be held in March - April 2022 window. The Term 1 examination will be offline and will be totally based on Multiple Choice Questions, which is a substantial deviation from the earlier method of conducting examinations. The Term 2 examination will either be Multiple Choice or Essay Type, the decision on which will be taken at a later date, in consideration of the COVID situation.

The CBSE is offering 114 subjects in Class 12 and 75 subjects in class 10. Hence in order to conduct examinations of all 189 papers, the minimum duration needed is 45 days. In order to avoid learning loss, the CBSE has decided that the subjects offered by CBSE will be divided into two parts - Major and Minor. The Term 1 will be conducted in Offline mode for all Major subjects the date sheet for which will be announced. 

As for the minor subjects, the CBSE will make a group of schools offering these subjects and thus more than one paper will be conducted by CBSE in the schools in a day.

Major Subjects for Class 10 include Hindi - A, Mathematics Standard, Mathematics Basic, Social Science, Computer Applications, English Language and Literature, Hindi - B and Home Science.

Major Subjects for Class 12 include Hindi Elective, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Informatics Prac (New), Computer Science (New), English Core and Hindi Core.
