The fourth day of the 27thWest Zone Inter University Youth Festival, hosted by Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur saw a spread of colours when the participants beautifully depicted various traditions through colors in a Rangoli Competition spreading the message that youth can be attached to our healthy and ancient traditions. This event saw 31 participants in all.
A Gazal Competiton on the fourth day of the festival at UCSSH Seminar Hall drew tremendous appreciation and applause from the audience when 29 contestants came on stage one by one to enthrall the gathering by their melodious compositions displaying varied emotions.
In the University Auditorium Classical Solo Dance Competition was conducted in which 30 teams presented various dance forms including Kathak and Bharatnatyam, where the dancer tried to display emotions of love and beauty through bodily gestures. A Skit Competition was also organized at the same place in which the teams brought out problems related to language, regionalism, water problems, communalism, corruption, environment, etc.
In the Debate Competition held at the Faculty of Management Studies, the topic was, “Judicial Extremism in a Parliamentary system, is a threat to Indian Democracy”. Here the speakers tried to persuade the house in their favor by expressing strong views both for and against the motion. Recent examples of the failures of legislative and executive were quoted to put up across the point in a better manner.
At University Campus, Photography Competition on the topic ‘Campus’ was organized in which 15 teams captured various parts of the campus from different angles.
Organizing Secretary of WZCC Youth Fest, Prof. M.S. Rathore said that the Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony will be organized in the University Auditorium on 9th December at 10:30 am in which 24 winning teams will be felicitated. According to Professor Sodani, Dean, Students Welfare, “The function will be presided over by Prof. I.V. Trivedi, Vice-chancellor, MLSU while Dayaram Parmar, Minister of Higher Education, Government. of Rajasthan will be the Chief Guest. Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Rajasthan will deliver a speech in the function.”
