The Two-day All India CA Conference that started today at ICAI Bhawan, which is expected to attract nearly 700 participants from across the nation.  The conference focuses on ‘Ethics: The Key to Professional Excellence’ and is being organized  under the banner of Ethical Standards Board of ICAI.

The inaugural ceremony was led by Jaydeep N. Shah, President, ICAI New Delhi and other guests.  Gaurav Vyas, President, ICAI Udaipur welcomed all the guests and informed them about the working of ICAI Udaipur.  The event was led by Devendra Punjawat and Deepak S.

Shah said, “ICAI has more than 2 lakh members and over 10 lakh students; having branches in more than 127 nations.  It’s one of India’s largest institutions.  We mold our students in the field of Accountancy with the help of a 4-level course and a 15 day workshop which includes articleship, orientation workshops, computers and personality grooming”.

K. Raghu, President, E.S.B informed on how they are working for CA students/members to get them well-aware of Ethical protocols, in the present scenario.

Mukesh Bohra informed that in this two day conference, the first session today was of the technical round that was led by N.P. Gupta, Former National President, ICAI who spoke on Opportunities for CAs and their influence.  K. Ragu led the second session handling an open question round.

The third session was with Ravi Holani, Conference Director who shed light on new clauses and sections of Service Tax and the fourth session was all about Indian Accounting Standards in their present scenario, which was led by N.P. Sharda, Former National President who also informed about International Auditing Standards and new advancements.

N. Shah also informed about the new advancements in the C.A. curriculum where a Commerce student (55%) and Faculty Graduate (60%) would be able to get into C.A. course directly without going through C.P.T exam and pursue their article ship.

This pattern would be implemented from 16^th Aug, 2012.

He also informed that, for the CA Final students there would be an Advanced course on Information Technology where 150 hours of training would be given.  The fee would be around Rs. 12,000-15,000 and the course would be available at the Hyderabad center with tenure of 4 weeks.

The technical sessions of the second day would be led by Abhejeet Bandopadhyay, Sanjay Agrawal, Atul Heda and G. Rajaswami.
