In order to assist in the Government’s vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy, Indian Institute of Management Udaipur celebrated Digital India Week on its campus from 1st July to 7th July 2015.

Various sessions, competitions and initiatives were undertaken during the week to help create greater awareness about the digital technologies available to assist citizens and also to educate students about the important role of digital media in governance and business.

The first event in the series was a ‘Digital Security Workshop for Managers’ organized by ConnectIT, the IT club of IIM Udaipur. Prince Boonlia, Director of Sempersol Consultancy Ltd. and a freelancer in the digital security domain was the speaker for the event. Boonlia explained the importance of digital security with examples and important aspects of digital media in everyday business like online transactions, protection of personal accounts, data security with migrating employees etc. were also discussed.

Potpourri – the Literary and Quizzing club organized a quiz that checked the digital awareness of its participants. The event saw over 80 students participating to answer the questions related to e-advertisements, logos, animation series and digital technologies. With 28 teams eventually battling it out against each other, the event was well attended.

Besides these, competitions related to poster making were also conducted. On the whole the week saw participation from over hundred students on campus with ideas for Digital India being discussed and a lot of education and awareness being created.
