IIM Udaipur in top 6 teams across the globe in Indo-US Business Conference

It is a moment of pride and honor for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur, one of the youngest in the elite IIM league, to be selected as one of the top 6 teams among the 80-odd participating business schools across the globe in the C.K Prahalad Case Competition, Indo-US Business Conference.

Competing with the likes of Wharton, Kellog, Booth, Ross and other Ivy-League business schools from US, Europe and Asia, IIM Udaipur showcased the potential and capability of the business education in India at a global stage.

The 5th India Business Conference (IBC) 2013 to be held at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, USA is one of the biggest forums worldwide where leaders from the field of business, politics, and academics share ideas about the world’s largest democracy and its huge potential. The theme for IBC 2013 is “Dream, Lead, Inspire”.

Some of the keynote speakers in this event will be Mark Fields, COO Ford Motor Company; Nina Davuluri, Miss America 2014;  John Hieftje, Mayor of Ann Arbor; Subbarami Reddy, Member of Indian Parliament; Prof. Tarun Khanna, Director of South East Asia Institute, Harvard University; Tulika Mehrotra, bestselling author and journalist.

The C.K Prahalad case competition is an annual event conducted in memory of Coimbatore Krishnarao Prahalad, a former Professor of Corporate Strategy at the Ross School of business and a prominent business thinker. This competition offers students the opportunity to compete and showcase their business knowledge and innovation by analyzing a real life case study in the social impact domain.

The IIM Udaipur team – ‘Agents of Change’, was represented by Arpit Mehra, Biswarup Das, Rahul Dsouza and Rahul Pandey. All of them are part of the post graduate program for executives (PGPX) – Global Supply Chain Management, offered by IIM-U in collaboration with Purdue University. These students are currently in US attending the fall semester as part of their course.

The team members have now been invited to compete in the final round where, the top 5 teams will be battling it out on 1st November’2013 at Ann Arbor for this prestigious award.

Being recognized as the top 5 teams globally is indeed a commendable achievement for the 3-year old IIMU. This marvelous feat showcases the immense potential of the IIMU fraternity and promises many more such achievements in the near future.
