Job Fair 2011 started from today at S.S. College of Engineering, Umarda turned as a big success. More than 1700 students from different fields of education registered in the mass recruitment event, where nearly 22 corporate houses interviewed the candidates. From early this morning, group of students started registering at Job Fair 2011 organized by joint efforts of The Times of India and S.S College at their campus located in Umarda, nearly 10 kms from Udaipur. At the end of the day, approximately 1785 students got registered out of which many got selected for the next rounds by different companies. The Delhi based Apex ANCON Projects Pvt. Ltd. picked up almost 75 students for the next level which would be a 6 months training, Mahindra & Mahindra Finance selected 8 candidates while IndusInd Bank has chosen 4 potential students. Nearly 800 students opt for different BPOs like DELL, Wipro, Gentec and HCL, many out of 800 selected for 2 ^nd round which might be held in next few days as per the recruitment policies of the companies. Out of more than a thousand aspirants few has also attended the job fair just to gain the experience of been interviewed by the corporate heads. Abhay Singhvi – Director of S.S. College of Engineering said, “The first day went nice and upto our expectations, though the distance from the city to our campus and some ongoing exams did mattered a bit but still the outcome was really satisfactory.” There would be 8 new companies attending the interviews on Sunday, July 3, the last day of Job Fair 2011.
