In an announcement, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) unveiled the results of the highly anticipated Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 on 16 April, 2024. Among the top achievers were Aditya Srivastava, Animesh Pradhan, and Donuru Ananya Reddy, who clinched the top three ranks, respectively. From Muslim community, Nausheen secured 9th rank. 

A notable highlight of this year's results is the substantial representation of the Muslim community. Out of the 1016 successful candidates, at least 50 belong to the Muslim community, signifying a success rate of approximately 5%. Among these successful candidates, 16 are women.

d. CSE 2021:Total Number of Muslim candidates in Top 100= Zero.

The achievement of Muslim candidates underscores the importance of diversity and inclusivity in India's Civil Services. This diversity enriches the administrative landscape and reflects the nation's commitment to equal opportunities for all its citizens. The over 20 Crore Muslims in India represent nearly 15% of the total population of the country. Over the years after independence, there has been a rise in literacy levels across all communities, but Muslims have been among the laggards. Hence a representation of 5.12% in the CSE, speaks of the intense hard work being put in by the students and support from their families and the community.

Out of the total successful candidates, 347 belong to the General category, 115 from economically weaker sections, 303 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 165 from Scheduled Castes (SC), and 86 from Scheduled Tribes (ST).

The selected candidates will fill prestigious positions across different branches of government service, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and other civil services.
