The library at Jagdish Chowk will be renovated and digitalised in the near future. The Cultural Committee of Municipal Corporation visited the library on Friday and after seeing the arrangements decided that the library needs to undergo modernisation and digitalisation.
Since Jagdish Chowk is a happening tourist centre, the library if given a new and modern look and facilities will attract more tourists and they will be able to enjoy reading in a good environment.
The library has a good collection of books that can provide a lot of information to a lot of people. The only point is that it is still being operated in the old fashioned way. The management has to do a good search of the registers and then the book is searched in the shelves. Also during a power cut, since the library is not equipped with an inverter, it is quite difficult to search for a required book and readers cannot sit inside for reading purposes.
An inverter will be installed at the earliest in this library. As informed by the library incharge, Udaipur is converting into education hub and the number of students is obviously going to rise. This certainly demands more libraries so that students residing in other areas of Udaipur city can avail the benefits.
