“Maharana Pratap Remembrance Lecture- 2012” was organized today morning at 11.15 am at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT). The lecture was organized by the Student Welfare Directorate, MPUAT.

The event started with the lecture of the Key Speaker, Professor K. Shridharan, Vice Chancellor, Dantiwada Agriculture College – Sardar Agriculture City, who remembered Maharana Pratap in his speech.

He focused on the present agro business in the country, cultivation and demand process and the need for modern innovations in the field of Agriculture. He added, “The increasing influence of westernization in the local masses and the changing environment are the two most challenging factors for the agriculture sector.”

The event was held under the direction of Professor O.P. Gill, Vice Chancellor, MPUAT. He, in his address to the audience, called Maharana Pratap the most valiant warrior, and said that everyone should take inspiration from the great soul. He also elaborated on the importance of conserving the agro knowledge.

Dr. Virendra Nepalia, Chief Organizer of the event welcomed the guests and said that MPAUT has been organizing “Maharana Pratap Remembrance Lecture” for the last 4 years. He added, “This event is a tribute to the great Maharana Pratap and it is also a stage for the known speakers and educationalists to share their thoughts and opinions on the importance of Agriculture.”

The Lecture was attended by Dr K.N. Nag, Former Vice Chancellor, MPUAT; Dr V.B. Singh, Former Director; professors of the University, other distinguished guests & students. The event concluded with a “Vote of Thanks” given by Dr G.S. Chauhan, Housing Director, MPUAT.
