RBSE Board Exam

Udaipur, October 11, 2024 - Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) will be organised by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education in the second half of January 2025. This announcement was made by Education Secretary Krishna Kunal yesterday, October 10, after a meeting of the department.

REET will now feature five options for every question in line with the format of competitive exams administered by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board. Candidates who choose not to respond to a question will be required to opt for the fifth option, labelled as Unanswered Question.

Apart from this, there are no major changes in REET this time. The last REET exam was held two years ago in July 2022.

This time around 10 lakh candidates are expected to appear for REET. This will include over 2 lakh new candidates who have completed B.Ed. or BSTC in the last two years plus 7,60,155 who did not qualify in the previous REET. Applications are expected to begin at the end of October or in the first week of November. Although the exact exam date has not been disclosed yet, it is believed that the exam could be held around January 20.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Madan Dilawar has said that in the coming years, 1.5 lakh teachers will be recruited. The Minister announced this yesterday, October 10, at the foundation ceremony of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) building.

He further said that 20,000 new teachers had been appointed and obstacles in the awaiting appointments will be resolved soon. The Minister mentioned that 60,000 eligible female students were given tablets in a single day, and teachers were given promotions in various positions through DPC (Departmental Promotion Committee). He further announced the opening of 50 new primary schools and the upgrading of 100 schools.
