This is a guest post by Aviral Mittal. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur brings to you TED ^xSPSU. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. It is an organization that promotes new ideas and brings them together on a platform to be showcased amongst the people of the world. TED conducts two conferences each year. TED speakers are those people who have ventured beyond the usual realms of thought and understanding in their fields of interest. A TED ^x meet is an independently organized Ted event conducted by a TED ^x license holder. At a TED ^x(x= independently organised event), live speakers and some TED videos combine to initiate ideas amongst a smaller group of people. I applied for the TED ^x license and was awarded one earlier this year. And this is what led to the birth of TED ^xSPSU. At TED ^xSPSU, we are celebrating the convergence of ideas from various fields and our theme is ‘Order from Chaos’, as it is one which all of us can relate to. The following are the benefits of attending TED ^xSPSU:

• It shall be an exclusive event for a group of 120 people.
• We have prepared each of the speakers to speak for 18 minutes, each second of which shall be priceless.
• You will get ample time and opportunity to interact with our speakers, and learn from them.
• It is a one of its kind event that is taking place for the first time in the Udaipur region.
• And to top it all, the event will have an aura about it since it has the world class brand name of TED associated with itself!

Here is a brief insight on the speakers confirmed to speak at TED ^xSPSU: Anuj studied post graduation in Apparel Design at the famous design school, National Institute of Design (NID), India. He was then awarded prestigious Charles Wallice India trust scholarship in 2002 to study Masters in High performance Sportswear Design from the University of Derby, UK. He was also invited to attend fashion coterie in New York. He was selected amongst four finalists for International Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year award (IFFEY) by British council, India.He was recently awarded the most innovative collection of the year award at Marie Claire Made in India fashion awards, 2009.

After 10 years in the corporate world, Amit decided to follow his heart and co-founded Go!Places (www.goplaces.in), a heritage tourism venture on a mission to Bring History to Life! He is an avid traveler, photographer, writer and a keen student of entrepreneurship. More important, he is the father of a three-year-old who shows him every day what is truly important.

Jayesh Sachdev, graduated with a major in Advertising and Design from Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore, in 2005. In 2006, he founded Emblem, a contemporary Art & Design studio, followed by the Emblem Art Gallery and Emblem Couture. His enterprising dynamicism saw him being acknowledged and credited as British Council Recipient for the Top 5 Young Arts Entrepreneurs in India, 2008.Sachdev holds the National Record for having painted India’s largest concept artwork, a new-media artwork 40ftx40ft through a never before initiated ‘Tyre-Art’ concept that was witnessed by the nations art fraternity.

Viplav is an eLearning researcher and entrepreneur who is passionate about digital learning experiences. Award winning geologist Dr Ritesh Arya is alumina of Geology Department Punjab University Chandigarh. He started his career in 1993 as a hydrogeologist working on daily wages @Rs 82.80 paisa per day but in later left his govt job in Himachal Pradesh to work as an entrepreneur to explore and develop groundwater resources for Indian Army and Civil population on guaranteed basis in high altitude cold mountain desert of Ladakh, Kargil, Drass, Leh, Nubra Valley, Siachen glacier and Chushul which were earlier considered to be devoid of groundwater resources. Doing so earned his name in Guinness World record for drilling highest artesian borewell in 2004.
