On the second day of training of engineering teachers at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic,, Dr(Mrs) S P Bedi spoke about how to conduct the seminars, how to evaluate the seminars , how to prepare the presentations. The Seminar giving method is highly beneficial to develop the soft skills of young students, It also imbibes the knowledge . She said.

Mrs Bedi was delivering her lecture through video conferencing from Chandigarh. Dr Bedi also highlighted the advantages of Brain storming. She explained various steps to be used while conducting the brainstorming sessions. The brainstorming sessions are conducted in non restraint manner, however there are certain rules and guidelines. The important being that one should not discourage the other .

Normally the brainstorming sessions are conducted in corporate board rooms. but this method if used in class rooms in academic institutions, it can enhance the creativity and confidence of the students.

Dr Bedi said that brainstorming sessions can not be held on topics which are having definite and fix solutions.

Er P K singhla explained the method to evaluate the students practical and tutorial works. The immediate feed back of evaluation to the students is very important he said.

Mr Anil Mehta , Principal of the polytechnic informed that in the first session, the Director of NITTTR, Dr M P Poonia spoke on leadership qualities.
