Next bird fest will take place from 10th to 13th January 2019. Forest department is in full enthusiasm regarding the oncoming bird festival for which a meeting was held in forest department auditorium on Monday.
In the meeting, it was decided that conservation programmes will go on throughout the year. To keep the people connected with conservation activities, programmes will be held on weekly basis and nature tours will be organised fortnightly. Nature activities will commence from 17th June for which venue and organiser will be finalised soon.
Decisions regarding bird race, exhibition, on-the-spot photography competition, panel of judges of bird specialists, organising bird fares throughout the country, connecting students with conservation programmes etc. were taken in the meeting.
For publicising the campaign, it was decided to have a bird identification book printed along with getting bird iconic stickers ready for distribution among bird lovers and students. Corresponding with institutes working on bird conservation, encouraging bird lovers to make bird lover friends and also encouraging students to participate in bird fares near water bodies were also on the agenda.
It was also proposed that a certificate course must be introduced for guides who are working in this area. Exams will also be held and those excelling in the examinations will be awarded with certificates.(this news is in green celebrating world environment day)
