Toastmasters of Rajasthan successfully conducted their Rajasthan Level Conference Convergence 2019, on 24th Nov 2019.

The event witnessed an audience of 200 people, that included students, entrepreneurs, professionals, homes makers as well as retired personnel.

Convergence 2019 that was held for first time in Udaipur to conduct state level Humorous Speech and Evaluation Speech Contests was graced by dignitaries of Toastmasters International, District 41 (North and East India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal) including the District Director of District 41, Jennifer Ghosh DTM, Past District Director Mukesh Kulothia, DTM, Division C(Rajasthan) Director Siddharth Balasaria,  Division N Director Smita Narayan and Division C Chief Judge, Nitesh Gupta.

This eloquent event saw great support from its Sponsors  – Secure Meters Limited (Gold Sponsor), Techno India NJR Institute of Technology ( Silver Sponsor) and E-Connect Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Pyrotech Electronics Pvt. Ltd. ( Bronze sponsors).

Energetically hosted by the emcees Krishnapriya Harsh and Hitesh Rajpurohit, the event began with a welcome note by conference Convener Sonia Keswani, DTM. It was followed by an address by Division Director Siddharth Balasaria where he told people about the history of Toastmasters and what people could have as a take away from the conference.

Followed by the Rajasthan Division level Evaluation Speech contest, which was well conducted by Contest Chair Neha Purohit, Smita Narayan presented the speech as a test speaker for the evaluation contest. The contestants then presented their evaluations (feedbacks ) on this speech  in the Commendation-recommendation-commendation format.  

Further District Director Jennifer Ghosh, DTM interacted with the audience about what is Toastmasters and how individuals, organizations and institutions can benefit out of it,  through self-development and personal growth.

Convergence 2019, truly defined the meaning of convergence bringing in both Toastmasters and non-Toastmasters on a single platform with a wonderful line-up of keynote speakers. While the MTV fame , TEDx and Josh Talks speaker Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar talked about how people could judiciously utilize the social networking platforms to convert their passion to monetization; the founder of Greensole Mr. Shriyans Bhandari Shared how a single thought of recycling the soles of used shoes to wearable footwear has brought transformation in many lives.

The session was followed by a networking lunch where people from different industries, institutions and startups interacted with each other.

Success factor of the event was seen, when even after lunch the audience was glued back to the seats to laugh their hearts out in the Humorous Speech Contest which was conducted by the Contest chair Raja Agarwal.

The conference then took a creative turn where the third keynote speaker Amazon’s bestselling author and IT consultant Mr. Ayan Pal, DTM shared his expert tips on how people could convert their writing skills into creative writing and discussed the various formats of writing. His session was super interactive.

And the final flavor of Convergence 2019 came in with Lifestyle management tips shared in the most simple manner by Dr. Anand Gupta, Director of Aravalli group of Hospitals and Path labs, and President of BNI Udaipur chapter. Everyone found the tips highly relatable to their life.

Finally it was time for presenting the awards to all the outstanding performers of the Division, organizing team of Convergence 2019, sponsors of the conference and dignitaries of Toastmasters International. With the heartbeats increasing, it was time for the results of the contests.

Humorous Speech Contest was won by Mandeep Sapra from Jaipur Toastmasters Club, First Runner Up was Senthil Kumar from Jodhpur Toastmasters Club and Second Runner Up was Gaurav Maheshwari from DBOI Toastmasters-Jaipur.

Evaluation Speech Contest was won by Kunal Advani from SKIT Club Jaipur, Akansha Deshwal from VGU Toastmasters Jaipur and Amit Ghildiyal from Sprouts Toastmasters Club.

Host club for this entire event was Udaipur’s own community Toastmasters Club - Udaipur Toastmasters Club. Event saw participantion from Techno Ariston Club members too.

Convergence was officially closed with a Vote of Thanks by conference Convener Sonia Keswani, DTM
