CA Day was celebrated at the ICAI Bhavan in Udaipur today and turned out to be a gala event. The day saw around 300 Chartered Accountants of the city show up for the occasion.
The day started with the flag hoisting by the Chairman of the Udaipur branch CA Sudhir Mehta, who is a prominent figure in the CA community.
The Blood Donation camp which began just after the flag hoisting was an immediate success. It was an encouraging sight to see so many people from different walks of life came in to donate their so they can save help someone in need. In total, 55 units of blood were collected by the end of the day. The lives that this blood would touch are priceless, and wouldn’t have been possible without our CA branch of Udaipur.
One of the highlight of today was the felicitations of some senior members of the branch who had served in this field for more than 30 years. This included some prominent members such as J.J Agarwal, who was the first branch manager of Udaipur, Jeevan Singh Nainawatee, Girdhar Gopal Agarwal, Man Mohan Mantri, Gajendra Kumar Bohara, Suresh Chandra Porwal, Anil Kumar Goel, Sampat Kumar Pokharna, Ramesh Chandra Garg, Ramesh Chandra Garg, Prakash Chandra Hinger, Mehndra Mehta and Man Mohan Patidar.
While the blood donation camp was still on, a special talk show and lecture was organized for the CA faculty. The lecture was on ‘How to Live a Happy and Peaceful Life’ and was delivered by Mr. Praveen Mehta, who is a senior faculty at the Art of Living. It was a brilliant lecture and a very apt one especially in these times when so many people lead such a hectic life.
The talk show was followed by a very colorful and exciting and fun-filled CA quiz and housie contest by CA V.C Vyas, FCA. The event turned out to be very exciting and, in the end, many attractive prizes were distributed among the winners.
There was also the distribution of free educational materials like books, uniforms and even scholarships to the students in need. Even their fees were paid by the branch office.
In the evening at the Manav Seva Samiti, M.B Hospital, Udaipur, there was another distribution consisting of food for the poor and the needy. It was touching to see so many lives being touched by the CA community.
“Giving back to the wonderful society for the opportunities it has given us, no matter what we do it still won’t be enough, this is the least we can do, and my best wishes to all the members and everyone,” quoted Mr. Mehta.
Today was an extraordinary day for the CA community. To see such a professional community give back to the society was truly commendable.
