Shabbir Hussain is into the business of manufacturing wooden toys from past 40 years. Talking about his business, Shabbir informed that, his business was started by his father Zakir Hussain, those days they used to sell the rocking wooden horse on payment of Rs. 25 only. Mango tree wood was largely used in these horses which increased the durability of the toy compared to the recently used plywood and aruda wood.

According to Shabbir Hussain, the past 15 years have seen an enormous fall in demand for wooden toys, largely due to introduction of technology and boom in electronics and plastic toys, and also due to Government’s restriction on cutting of trees.

Presently, Shabbir sells such rocking horses for Rs. 250 per piece. Other than rocking horse, he also manufacturers Tam Tam gadi and toy Piano.
