58th Wildlife Week ended with a Grand Closing Ceremony

Almost 2500 people across the city attended the ‘Cyclothon & Run for Nature’ event organized by the Wildlife wing of Forest Department. The main concept of the program was to create interest and awareness in the people to live an ‘Eco Friendly’ life style.

Almost 2500 people across the city attended the ‘Cyclothon & Run for Nature’ event organized by the Wildlife wing of Forest Department. The main concept of the program was to create interest and awareness in the people to live an ‘Eco Friendly’ life style.

Dr N.C. Jain, Chief Conservator Forest & Wildlife, informed that there was a tremendous excitement in the people regarding Wildlife week.

Today morning at 7:00 AM, S.K. Verma, Rtd. P.C.C.F. (Rajasthan) showed the green flag to start-off ‘Cyclthon’ (cycling marathon) from Luv Kush Stadium in which 700 young and 100 Senior citizens participated. Participants included Raghuveer Meena, MP and T.C. Damor, I.G. Police Udaipur Range, who completed the full 21 kilometer run with the other participants.

Volunteers provided the facilities such as drinking water and edible things for the participants at different places; no plastic material was used during whole marathon.

The Cyclist reached the final point at Mohan Lal Sukhadiya Auditorium to end the 21 km long marathon while senior citizens and women completed 10.5 kms of mini marathon.

Similarly, walk for Nature was started off by Prof. I.V. Trivedi, VC MLSU at 7.30 AM from Mohanlal Sukhadiya University Campus to Shastri Circle and back to MLSU campus.

In this walking marathon, 1500 people from the city participated.

According to Yogesh Jain, media coordinator Pacific College, the concluding ceremony was orgnanized at MLSU where renowned dignitaries including MP Raghuveer Meena, MLA(Rural) Sajjan Katara, Additional Chief Secretary (Forest) Rajasthan Dr. V.S. Singh, Chief Wildlife Conservator (Raj.) A.C. Chobey, I.G Police Udaipur Range T.C. Damor were present.

Dr. N.C. Jain CCF, WL conducted the program, in which 30 winners of the marathon won a family stay of 3 days and 2 nights in forest.

Three free cycles were also given to the winners by the Chief Guests.

All the forest department officials, with the large number of Udaipurites, were present at the closing ceremony.
