The Diwali Fair 2022 is being organised at Udaipur from 15-29 October.  The annual Diwali fair that has been an important part of the event calendar of Udaipur was missed in the last two years due to the COVID lockdown.  The fair this year will be held for 15 days in the Nagar Nigam premises as earlier. The timings for the fair will be from 7pm onwards. Entry to the fair will be free of cost.

Chhogalal Bhoi, the Media Coordinator for this fair and Concilor at the Udaipur Nagar Nigam announced the comprehensive calendar for the Diwali Fair 2022.

Local Talent Night (15-16 Oct)

Local Talent night will be held on the first two days of the cultural evening on October 15 and 16, where participants belonging to Udaiupr will present their shows on stage.

Cultutal Evening (15-21 Oct)

President of the Municipal Corporation Cultural Committee, Chandrakala Bolya, announced that Cultural Evenings will be held daily from 15 to 21 October. The food stalls and Joy Rides will be operational till 29 October. Main events that will form a part of the Cultural Evenings are as follows:

Ankush Bhardwaj

Ankush Bharadwaj, a celebrity from Season 10 of Indian Idol, has been invited to Musical Evening that will be held on 17 October.

Raas Leela

Artists from across India will perform at the Raas Leela stage show that will be held on 18 October.

Jay Vijay Sachan

StandUp Comedian Jai Vijay Sachan will add the comic quotient to the stage on Laughter Night, which will be on 19 October.

Aradhana Sharma

Aradhana Sharma of Splitvilla fame has been invited to perform on the GMCH Dance Night on 20 October.

All India Kavi Sammelan

All Indian Kavi Sammelan will be held on 21 October. Purendra Sharma (Delhi), Vineet Chauhan (Alwar), Tej Narayan Bechain (Morena), Kavita Tiwari (Lucknow), Dinesh Desi Ghee (Shajapur), Shambhu Shikhar (Bihar), Maruthi Nadan (Jaipur) and Ajatashatru (Udaipur) are the well known poets from across India who will participate in the All India Kavi Sammelan.

Other details:

  • As per Arvind Jaroli, Head of the UMC Revenue Committee said that the rental income from the food stalls and joy rides as well sundry stalls that have been set up at the fair was marginally over rupees One Crore.
  • Chandrakala Bolya of the UMC said that 18 committees in all have been formed to organise the Diwali Fair this year, which include the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Commissioner among other senior members.
  • A massive stage and separate enclosures for VVIPs, VIPs, Special Guests, Viewers Gallery and Press have been set up in an organised manner.
  • Food stalls, sundry items stalls and joy rides have been set up in a structured manner to ensure that visitors can seamlessly tour the premises.
  • Invitation Cards and Program Schedules have been printed and will be distributed accordingly, so that visitors can visit the premises accordingly.
  • Security arrangements which include Fire Fighting setup, CCTV, Police and Home Guards are in place according to the plan.
