Shri Anil Agarwal, ET Business Leader of the Year 2012 & Chairman, Vedanta Group of Industries visited College of Technology and Engineering today and addressed students from various academic disciplines such as M.Tech MBA (Tech.) and B.Tech He emphasized the need of global entrepreneurship, especially from people of Rajasthan.

Agrawal said, “India has abundant natural & mineral resources but they need to be extracted and utilized for making the country self-sufficient. There is a need to increase power generation in the country and non-renewables are the key for the present. We have abundant coal, oil and gas resources and we just require tapping them”.

The motivational talk from him included stirring quote such “You have got to be hungry to be successful” and “Think and Aim Big” showing his prowess in giving an inspirational boost to budding entrepreneurs. He also emphasized the role of women empowerment. Right through his talk he depicted the unquenchable zeal for leadership and entrepreneurship, and opined that entrepreneurship does not mean owning a company but, owning an idea and leading a team. Also, local people should have a sense of ownership for the business of a successful venture.

After speaking about his past experiences, anecdotes of entrepreneurship and notable events, a gamut of questions on Vedanta’s growth story, his personality, entrepreneurship, SME’s in India, Indian Economy, etc were asked by the students.

Diamond Entrepreneur from Belgium, Shri Bhavin Mehta was guest of honor accompanied by Shri Sunil Duggal, COO, HZL; Shri A. Thiru, Group HR Head and other senior officials of HZL.

Prior to this, Shri Agarwal was given a traditional welcome by Dr. Rathore by adorning him with “Mewari Paag” and “Shawl”. A short film “Partners in Prosperity” on the life of Sh. Anil Agarwal and Vedanta’s success story was also shown to the students.

Heads of all departments, faculties, staff & students of CTAE were present on the occasion. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. S. Jindal, Coordinator, MBA (Technology) course and Programme Coordinator.
