During the ongoing first 10 days of the month of Muharram, various religious and social activities are conducted by city’s Dawoodi Bohra communities.

Under the direction of Dawoodi Bohra Shia Jamaat, 10-days religious sermons are going on in Moiadpura Mosque by Shehzada Abde Ali bin Malik-ul Ashtar Bhaisaab, grandson of HH Sydena Mohammad Burhanuddin, the Spiritual leader of Dawoodi Bohra community.

The religious sermons consist of narrating the story of Karbala and martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his family and followers. The speeches also portray the moral of Imam’s martyrdom and its significance to the humanity.

The system to broadcast live speeches of HH Syedna has also been installed in Mosques of Moiadpura, Kharol Colony, Khanjeepheer etc.

Today on the 6^th day of the Islamic month, a blood donation camp was organized at Bohra Youth Dispensary.

The blood donation camp was organized by Bohra Youth Medical Relief Society in the memory of Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Muhammad.

110 unit of blood was donated today. According to Mansoor Ali Orawala, Finance Secretary of the Jamaat, “Females donors equally came forward for donation and contributed about 50 percent of the total blood donated today. This camp was solely organized to remember the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain in Karbala, we pay our highest tribute and condolence to the grandson of Prophet Muhammad and son of Hazrat Ali.”

Mansoor Ali also informed that they have been organizing this camp since 1973 every year on 6^th of Muharram.
