Today is Earth Hour Day. Each one of us must contribute in saving the environment and save energy. All Udaipurites are contributing and abiding by the curfew rules in a positive manner. Let us follow this all-lights-off schedule today for one hour from 8:30 p.m.
Earth Hour Day is a world wide campaign for saving the environment. Putting off the electricity in our houses for one hour means contributing in saving the earth and working towards climatic changes in positive direction. Keeping the lights off for one hour results in saving immense amount of energy. This means that we can save the earth from the load that it faces every minute. Doing this would prevent the mal effects on environment.
The Earth Hour Day began in 2007 wherein more than 2 lakh Australians shut down the lights as their step towards environment conservation. It began in India in 2009 where more than 5 million people supported the motive.
Udaipur has been participating and contributing in this nature friendly act since the past few years. We know of our responsibilites towards the environment and we must put them into action. A one hour light-off schedule does not affect our lives and in the present scenario, we can obviously do this. So let us all join hands and shut off all the lights today from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. WE CAN DO THIS, CAN'T WE?
