To encourage implementation of new technology in farming and to improve output through simple methods, Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur organized MPUAT Science Fest and Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition today at Agricultural College premises.

To encourage implementation of new technology in farming and to improve output through simple methods, Maharana Pratap University of Agricultural and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur organized MPUAT Science Fest and Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition today at Agricultural College premises.

Fest Coordinator and Communication Director, Dr Indrajeet Mathur informed that the festival was inaugurated by MP Raghuveer Singh Meena at 10 am in the presence of University Chancellor Professor O P Gill.

In the Science fest, various stalls showcasing pesticides, fertilizers, quality seeds, irrigation equipments, tractors, farm machinery etc were placed. To improve the quality of farming and to impart the knowledge about the best practices that should be followed by the farmers, various departments of associate colleges displayed and explained the models to the farmers, students and other interested people.

In the Flower, Fruit and Vegetable exhibition, several competitions were organized in which farmers from various areas of the state participated. The exhibition was occupied with a variety of cut flowers, fruits and vegetables.

MP Meena said that farming should be considered as a business. India is an agriculture based nation and for the growth of our country, growth of agriculture is extremely important. “Improvement in production of farm products can be attained through the implementation of new technology and quality fertilizers and seeds, which is available at subsidized rates for the small farmers”, added Meena.

The exhibition continued till 9 pm in the evening and was appreciated by several interested people.
