“The conversion of lakes into small colonies has increased the chances of floods and droughts both. Also, it is imperative to treat surface water properly to reduce the chances of occurring mishaps,” said Gandhian Anupam Mishra in a seminar on Rule, Society & Environment at Vidya Bhawan.

The seminar was organized by Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust, Jheel Sanrakshan Samiti, Shikshantar, P.N Choyal Art Trust and Techno NJR Institute of Technology.

Anupam in his speech emphasized that a city should evaluate the source of water precisely keeping in mind the availability and needs. He also stated that saving water in today’s scenario is a crucial step that each one has to take.

During the seminar, Mishra reinforced the need of establishing the traditional means of saving water marking the harm of inter basin transfer.

The seminar was commenced by Dr Tez Razdan and concluded by Shael Choyal. Trust Secretary Nand Kishore Sharma managed the entire seminar.
