Lakshyachandi Maha Yagya-The most famous and miraculous Yagya started in Udaipur from today on 5^th and will continue till25th May2011. This yagya is performed in order to establish a gold-pot on the dome of Mahakaleshwar Temple.

This yagya is also considered as a symbol to increase the brotherhood in society. This 22 days religious episode would include many pious hindu rituals and chanting of mantras which would invoke the natural forces to unite for the betterment of human kind. Large number of people and priests are going to to participate from all over the country.

The special features of this enormous Yagya are:

1. 5000 people would participate daily.
2. Recitation of the verses of holy ancient texts to purify the atmosphere.
3. 432 married couples would be participating in this holy culture.
4. Recitation of Goddess Chandi path- 6000 times every day.
5. Recitation of Goddess Durga Saptshati path around 1.8 lac times every day.
6. 2100 Brahmin priests would be doing the chanting of ancient & religious verses. All Brahmins have come from various states in India.
7. 100001 yagya rituals daily.
8. 108 sections of yagya kund.

Prior evening preparations for Yagya.

Lakshyachandi Maha Yagya begins from Vaishakh Shukla-5th May 2011 (of Hindu calendar) and would last till Jyeshtha Shukla Panchami (22^nd May).  All preparations of yagya began from an evening prior to the main event. Few rituals were performed and verses were recited by Brahmins. These recitations lasted till night.

Huge mob gathered at the evening prior to the main yagya occasion. Hundreds of Brahmins got themselves registered for this religious event.

13 years back, Trustee of Mahakaleshwar temple -Tejsingh Sarupiya, and Secretary- Chandra Shekhar Dhadich had decided to organize lakshyachandi Mahayagya.

Today’s program:

Recitation of goddess Durga Saptshati verses begun in the wee hours of morning.  At 10 am, all Brahmins gathered at the yagya venue. Yagya started from 12 pm and would be going on till evening.

Importance of Lakshya Chandi Yagya:

This religious and pious event is organized to set the gold pot on the dome of temple, with all Hindu rituals performed.

This religious fest has special objective of spreading the love and brotherhood with the message of equality in society.

All fund of Yagya would be invested in the beautification of Mahakaleshwar temple.
