Yes! That’s sounds ridiculously impossible to most of us but these guys are going to tango tomorrow with all those energetic and breath taking moves.
Truthfully, the credit goes to Spin Dance Academy who has been teaching 5 dance genres namely Contemporary, hip-hop, Punjabi, Bollywood and Retro for last 7 days to more than 100 students who are divided into various categories like toddlers, juniors, beginners, advanced and corporate.
The not too long journey of 7 days and 7 hours is on its final stage. Today on 15th April is the last day of Spin Dance Academy Workshop and tomorrow on 16th April will be the final showdown.
So before the red carpet is laid, let’s get acquainted with the dance instructors of academy who we call as mentors. However, Akash Karnatki being the head of academy, he has a strong team of expert instructors who have put their shoulders to the wheel to make it spin.
Today we are introducing 5 mentors Babita, Balram, Kunal, Rachna and Melody of Spin Dance Academy who made every impossible possible by their hard work, determination, passion and discipline.
Every dance instructor of academy has specific unbeatable qualities; the common is their high spirits and stamina.
Yesterday, we requested these mentors to choose out at least one of their favorite and most talented students they met in last 7 days in Udaipur. Obviously that was tough to decide who is best among so many but after much insisting the mentors finally agreed to our request.
They selected 5 best students / wannabe dancers from 4 basic criteria like Adaptability, Line and Grace, Potential and Zeal to learn.
So check these 5 mentors and their 5 most favorite and outstanding students who are ready to rock Udaipur tomorrow.
Babita Sharma – Head Instructor
Babita Sharma (26), hails from Nasik and joined the very first batch of Spin Academy in Nasik. She is the most experienced choreographer of the academy as it’s been 11 years since she joined this dance academy.
The Dancing Diva has super high energy levels. This passionate for dance girl never had any idea what fate had in store for her. A graduate from B.Y.K College in Nasik, she joined Spin Academy as a student, when she was in 9th standard. She loves Contemporary & Tango Dance forms.
“While joining the academy, I never thought about taking Dance as a career. Being just a kid, I gave it a whirl casually. I could not even realize that when my passion turned into my profession. I never need to think about it, I just let myself flow with the wind, and here I am with all the enthusiasm for dance.” Utters Babita.
The dancing chick gets easily connected with all students with in a snap of fingers. She is able to match the wavelength with every single student in the academy.
While being asked about her favorite dancer or inspiration she replies “No one other than Akash Karnatki (Head of Spin Academy). He is my inspiration and also the first & the last ideal, I want to be like him.”
Babita’s Favorite Student – Jitendra
Jitendra, A versatile boy of 24 (Udaipur) found that he has his heart in dance, after he joined Spin Academy in 2008 as student.
He was so moved by the Dance Academy that he opened his own dance classes in Udaipur. He is a multi talented lad, who has tried his hand not only in teaching western dance forms in his own classes but also in Event management, Hospitality (has worked in the industry) and has performed in many talent hunt shows on TV.
The enthusiastic Jitendra loves doing Salsa and adores Babita (Choreographer of Spin Academy) as one of his ideal icons. After Babita, he like Shahid Kapoor’s dance.
Babita’s Take on Jitendra
“The reason I chose Jitendra over other students is that he is a very ebullient dancer and is always on his toes to make an edge over others. As he was also in 2008’s batch, I can figure out that he has ameliorated very much. This improvement has made an impression to me.”

Rachna – Assistant Instructor
Rachna Pareekh (17) is the youngest choreographer, Spin Academy has. The sweet girl from Ahemdabad has dreams sparkling in her eyes has a soft tone with unbeatable passion.
Her favorite dance form is Hip-Hop. She wants to excel in dance. The charming lass can make feel every student comfortable with her super charming skills.
Rachna’s Favorite – Mitali Jaiswal
Mitali (12), a student of 7th standard from Witty International School, is very much into dancing & singing. She dreams of becoming a choreographer.
The cutie loves Free Style & Hip Hop and Farah Khan is her favorite choreographer as she loves her dance styles.
“It’s been a lovely experience with Spin Academy here. I love everyone here. I think it’s the best dance academy, I have pinned my faith totally on it, so there is no chance that I would ever join any other academy. I would rather practice dance at home and would wait when Spin Academy next time organize classes here.”
Rachna’s take on Mitali “Mitali is a very obedient student and is always eager to learn. Her inquisitive nature is what i like in her.” Says Rachna with bubbly smile.………….
Melody – Instructor
A girl with melodious looks (in her early 20s), Melody Singaporia is from Ahemdabad.
She joined Spin Dance academy as student 10 years back. The Salsa lover and a graduate in Psychology (St Xavier’s College), can’t imagine her life without dance.
“Since I joined Spin Dance academy, I am always with Academy & have witnessed each & every event of Spin academy, so it seems impossible to imagine my life without it. Being so intensely attached with dance I always managed to keep a good balance between studies & dance” says, melodious Melody.
In bollywood, she loved Hrithik as a dancer due to his oomph of moves and grooves.
Melody’s Favorite – DevikaDevika (21) hails from Udaipur. She has ambitions in heart & determination in mind. She started dancing when she was just 3 years old. She is working in P.T. Education as student facilitator.
Her favorite dance forms are Contemporary, Jazz & Salsa. She loves singing and travelling too. Akash Karnatki (Head of the Spin academy) is her favorite. After him, she likes Shyamak Dawar & Michael Jackson.
“After walking, I learnt just dance.” Says she which denotes her super passionate perspective about dance.
Melody’s take on Devika
“Devika & I connect so easily while dancing. Apart from being an awesome dancer, she has that amicable attitude. I can relate to her in the terms of the way she is beginning her career into dance.

Balram – Instructor
Balram Iyer (27) is a cool lad from Ahemdabad. He has it all when it comes to teaching dance to kids & toddlers.
He joined Spin academy in 2005 as student and is also working as H.R. in a B.P.O. The soft spoken guy is actually a smart man who knows how to tackle kids while dance.
He loves jazz, contemporary and bollywood dance forms. The queen of dance and smile – Madhuri Dixit is his favorite dance.
Balram’s Favorite- Geetika BhattGeetika, a jolly girl of 20 years, is student of B.Tech from Maharaja College. She loves Contemporary & Punjabi dance forms. Her mom is the first inspiration to her, as her mom has also been a good dancer.
“If I am doing B.tech, that never means that I would leave dancing” says she with a confident smile & sugar coated voice.
On being asked about the pigeonhole attitude of society towards dance (like dancing can’t be a career etc), she blurts out “this stereotype thinking should be wiped out. We should be adaptable, and have to think out of box in order to be a developed country.”
Balram’s take on Geetika
“Geetika is a very good dancer, and I chose her as she has the flair of learning and full of zest & enthusiasm. She is good in Contemporary and Punjabi.” Says Balram.

Kunal- Assistant Instructor
Kunal Patel (23) is a guy from Surat. A student of Mechanical Engineering, this chap loves hip hop dance form.
“There are so many ways to be happy, for me it is dance.” He says.
“Dance is a stress buster to me, it makes me happy, so one can’t ever leave the reason of his happiness.People go to gym to wriggle out the frustration, I do dance for the same.”
Kunal loves Michael Jackson. On being asked that what he would choose if there was no Dance, he replies “I would be a DJ then; music would always be there, whatever I opt for.”
Kunal’s Favorite- Mriganika TanwarA student of St. Mary School, Mriganika (12) with her super cool and friendly attitude, dreams of becoming a choreographer.
“I want to be a choreographer because Choreography is a good art and I can do better in that.”
Her favorite dancer is Babita (Choreographer of Spin academy) and Jenilia D’souza comes next. She likes Contemporary & Hip-Hop dance forms.
“I like Spin dance academy because it offers various genres of dance.” Says the bubbly chick.
Kunal’s take on Mriganika
“Mriganika is a very good learner. She picks up very fast. She has interest in learning.” Says Kunal.
