The imagination of writer Akash Daitya Lama comes live with Mohenjo Daro, a play composed by Akash himself, creating a fusion between a triangular love story and the impact of caste and tribe divides, back in time to the early civilizations, viz. Mohenjo Daro.

The play demonstrates the love between Indra, an Aryan leader and a girl Sugandha belonging to the Anarya tribe. Another character, creating the triangle, Akshat, is the chief of Mohenjo Daro armed forces and is also in love with Sugandha. Sugandha however loves Indra and Akshat helps them to elope.

Varun is child born out of the wedlock of Indra and Sugandha. Indra dies and Varun is a strong nominee as the leader of the Arya tribe, taking the mantle from the late Indra, but faces objection due to his maternal roots in the Anarya tribe.

The play is tightly woven, and takes the audience across to the latter part of the story when Varun attacks Mohenjo Daro to prove his worth to his tribe, Arya. This is when Akshat re-appears in the story, as the leader of the Mohenjo Daro armed forces and before breathing his last, educates Varun on the worthlessness of war between tribes.

Showcased at the Lok Kala Mandal on Saturday evening, the play directed by Kulvinder Bakshi was organized under the joint association of Big Bang Theatre, Mumbai and Rotary Club, Udaipur. The main characters of the play were Ashok Banthia (Kurav), Meetali Naag ( Sugandha), Akash Daitya Lama (Indra) and Kulvinder Bakshi (Akshat).

The play will also be repeated at the Shilpgram theatre today evening.
